Notebook: Cook chasing history in season finale
The Champions Tour heads to San Francisco for the season-ending Charles Schwab Cup Championship at TPC Harding Park October 31-November 6. The purse is $2.5 million and the winner will receive $440,000 and 880 Charles Schwab Cup points. Last year, John Cook defended the title he won in 2009 outlasting Michael Allen, who opened the event with a tournament-record 61.
TPC Craig Ranch to host NWT Championship in 2012
McKINNEY, Texas -- The PGA TOUR's Nationwide Tour and the Salesmanship Club of Dallas announced Monday that the Tour's season-ending Nationwide Tour Championship will return to TPC Craig Ranch in the Dallas suburb of McKinney in 2012.
Duke claims Nationwide Tour Championship title
CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Ken Duke admitted early in the week that he had a thing or two to learn about patience if he wanted to win again. With a 4-under 68 on Sunday at the season-ending Nationwide Tour Championship at Daniel Island Club, something had sunk in. By two strokes, Duke emerged victorious at the season-ending event, good for a re-berth onto the PGA TOUR in 2012. With the win, he jumped from 36th on the money list to seventh.
Mitsubishi Electric extends sponsorship through 2015
PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. -- The PGA TOUR and Mitsubishi Electric announced an extension of their Official Marketing Partnership and title sponsorship of the Champions Tour's season-opening Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai through 2015.
IMG to handle international retail licensing for TOUR
PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. -- IMG, which currently partners with the PGA TOUR to manage retail licensing activities in the United States, has been retained as the TOUR's Worldwide Licensing Representative. As such, IMG will work with the TOUR to expand and manage the PGA TOUR's international retail licensing program in all regions except Japan, where the PGA TOUR separately retains Bonmax Co. Ltd. as its Master Licensee.
